0 2015-16 Note to Parents

Dear Parents of Third Graders for the 2015-16 School Year,

Welcome to Third Grade! We are already gearing up for the new year. First semester we will be studying history by using a time machine where the students become the people we study. Second semester we will be studying science and doing a mini science fair with lots of fun experiments. In language we will be studying sentences, punctuation, capitalization, verbs, and nouns with fun songs that help us to remember. We have a card factory, too. In math we work and work on the basic facts with drills and flashcards, but also some fun stories. In Bible we pray around the world for missionaries and people in need. There is so much more in store...Get ready!!!

                                                                                                                                                                                      God bless,
                                                                                                                                                                                      Mrs. Escobar

P.S. It would help your student to get off to a great start by keeping him/her reading. How about earning T.V./video game time by reading? Read for half an hour, earn half an hour extra activity, or whatever ratio you choose.

Also start memorizing math facts (memorizing....not counting).

Start with addition and just do a few facts at a time. I start with doubles and then go to almost doubles. (doubles 6+6=12, almost doubles 6+7=13).

1 2014-15 End of Year Thanks

Parents,

Thanks so much for a great year! Thanks for helping your child with their homework and projects, for sending goodies for our parties, for driving and accompanying us on our field trips, and for gifts and cards to encourage me. I pray that the students will remember the things I taught them-math, language, history, spelling, science, health, reading, computer, art and most of all Bible. I pray that they will mature and live godly lives pleasing to the Lord.

                                                                                                  God bless you,
                                                                                                   Mrs. Escobar
